White Fitted Bookcase & Cupboards

This customer was having the whole living room updated, so on top of a freshly decorated room with new carpets, furniture and fireplace with woodburner they also wanted two new bookcases to fit, snugly, inside the alcoves of the room, either side of the new fireplace. The room was decorated in a modern contemporary grey so the white fitted bookshelves complimented the space perfectly and gave them space to hide unwanted items out of site.

American Walnut Bookcase

Tom’s client had wanted a new bookcase to match the style of the cabinets that were on the opposite wall in their study but after an initial call to the company that made them, many years ago, they realised that the finish and style were no longer being made. This meant they needed to look for something that was more bespoke, so they could fill the space they needed, and instead of trying to match the same wood they went for something in complete contrast to compliment the other unit. They chose American Walnut and we designed the cabinet to fit the whole wall with space for books, ornaments and a set of storage cupboards behind the doors at the bottom. This meant they could store their board games away from view whilst having the books out on display.

Living Room Cabinet

This cabinet was made to fit a recess in the living room following the client’s unsuccessful hunt for a specific sized bit of furniture to fit into the hole, they were all a bit too deep and would have jutted out into the room. This was designed to fit snugly into the alcove that’s formed by the fireplace with drawers, CD shelves, space for the lamp and some other ornaments. The bespoke living room cabinet is made out of Cherry with chrome handles for the drawers.

Office Desk with Floating Cabinet

There were two projects in this room – The Entertainment Cabinet at the far end of the room and an Office Desk with Floating Cabinet next to the window, both of which were designed and made at the same time to compliment each other. The desk and floating cabinet were made to the same length so the cabinet floats neatly above the desk acting as a nice bit of storage, they were both painted white with chrome handles but the grain of the wood was left as a feature for the desk top giving them a nice surface to work off.

Entertainment Cabinet

There were two projects in this room – The Entertainment Unit at the far end of the room and an Office Desk with Floating Cabinet next to the window, both of which were designed and made at the same time to compliment each other. The Entertainment Unit was made as a games storage cabinet for the children aswell as as a media station to hold the TV, Play Station and video player. Tom Maxwell designed the piece with the client and had areas opened up as shelves and others closed away to make the children’s playroom as neat as possible, it was painted white with chrome handles and covered the entire back wall, making use of the entire space.
